My Journey To Weight Loss

My weight was something I always despised. My thoughts were always like, “Yeah, I’m plump or chubby but whatever, I guess it’s good I’m tall!”

I was pre-pubescent, getting ready for body growth and development. My body was hungry for energy and food. I want to say at the time I was only 10 and had family who should have provided better food options. Maybe it was part the reason why, but I didn’t have to eat it, and I did. But alas,Β my eating habits became the reason why I put on so much weight.

Sure, I lost a bit of weight here and there as I grew but I couldn’t shift the weight off my thighs, butt, hips and waist. Fast forward to February 2017 and I learn that the places you gain weight first, will be the last places you lose weight from (also the hardest fat to shift!)

I stumbled across Cassey Ho of Blogilates on YouTube and it so happened at the same time, my husband decided we should both check out our local gym. It was from that first day of signing up that I said the $15 a week I pay for my membership is going to be worth every penny. So it began.

Amazingly, the Law of Attraction provided (more on that in another blog/video). Cassey started 2017 off with a, ’28 Day Reset Challenge’ and I was ready and roaring to go. My motivation had come, my moment had come, I took control of my brain and it was happening!

The 28 Day Reset Challenge meant I was going to kick start my metabolism and shock it into weight loss. That meant for 28 days no;

  • Processed sugar
  • Processed foods
  • Dairy
  • Gluten
  • Alcohol

All this plus 6 days a week at the gym for 1 hour minimum session (I did cardio). Sunday rest day. But surprisingly for me, I was loving it. The flu set in a few days in, I felt exhausted and run down however, I pushed through to see myself slim down, all within 28 days!

I can’t thank Cassey enough for her instructional video and a challenge I put my mind to.

Since then I have managed to lose around 26.4 lbs/12kgs in about 6 months.Β Here we are today, February 2018 and I couldn’t be happier. Gosh I only wish I’d gotten this sudden motivation before my wedding!
