The shelves can look like an endless array of flashy products that capture our attention with, “new formula” this and, “anti-aging” that. For the most part, it’s all just a marketing gimmick and we all happen to fall for it once in a while.
Unless you’re a trained professional or have some background in Chemistry then it’s hard not to get confused! So how do you choose good skincare products that’ll actually do you good? Keep reading ahead 🙂
Let’s focus on the basics because here at DMP Health we try offer the best information on health and skincare in an easier to understand format. So lets begin with the things you should look for when purchasing a new anything product for your skin.
Anything marketed for, “Sensitive Skin” is a good sign that the product has been formulated in consideration to, you guessed it, those who have a sensitive skin type. You can rest assured that albeit a very rare instance, those who are most sensitive to basically everything can feel okay to put this on their skin although I’d recommend patch testing first anyway just in case!
Look For These Words On Packets, Bottles, Tubes and Tubs
- Fragrance Free
- Oil Free
- Soap Free
- Dye Free
- Non – Comedogenic
- No Parabens
Dermatologically Tested is okay, but really any company can put that on their packaging. Still it’s better than not mentioned at all.
Even if you don’t consider yourself to have sensitive skin type they certainly should not be disregarded next time you’re pondering your next purchase. The ingredients they don’t put in are key to not irritating your skin and we’re ALL the same when it comes to not wanting to cause breakouts and skin irritations and prevention of the latter.
