Carmex | Comfort Care, Natural Colloidal Oatmeal Lip Balm

Dry as the Sahara desert. Something about that hyperbole just doesn’t cut it about how dry my lips have been lately. They feel like a small flame, a lighter perhaps is being flicked across my lips repeatedly.

Having picked up my prescription for the acne cream Duac (Clindamycin + Benzoyl Peroxide) over the weekend (week ending 25 Nov), I proceeded to apply a thin layer to my face every evening. My latest ‘Skin Journey’ post here for reference.

During my beauty sleep *giggles*, it appears the cream has made it’s way onto my lips. Ahh Benzoyl Peroxide. I haven’t used this ingredient in years but vaguely remember the flakes of peeling skin it caused from sections of my face.

I was applying VaselineLucas’ Paw Paw Ointment and Blistex SPF50+ balm, but for some reason my lips screamed for more moisture.

What was I to do? I was desperate.

In a flash, I remembered a product I recently received in a giveaway I won. Thus, the perfect opportunity to trial out this product!

Watermelon! The scent is amazing, I can’t get enough of it. Yes it tastes good too. There is another, “Mixed Berry” that is available on iHerb.

This really and truly made me rub my lips together. I have never applied such a soft and pleasant product. It feels extremely moisturising and much more smoother, almost like triple milled Vaseline without the chunkyness. 5/5 ★★★★★

More on Colloidal Oatmeal

I have some knowledge people have used oatmeal as a natural remedy to soothe symptoms of Dermatitis, Eczema, Allergic Contact Dermatitis, Psoriasis, dry skin etc by applying to the skin as a thick moisturising vehicle in baths for instance.

It is basically finely milled oats that help sooth itching and relieve dryness.

This instantly relieved my lips. I was so impressed. I applied it consistently for 2 days and my lips had returned to normal.

You can purchase this product on iHerb for AUD$3.12 along with their whole range.
