If you’re reading this, then thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to come and see what I have to say.
Looking at the tag line of my blog, “Love Your Health” got me thinking. The whole reason I started was because of my health. But I don’t feel like I’ve been loving myself or my health as of late.
This morning as I sat down drinking my morning coffee, I began to notice something I’d been ignoring. Me, myself and I.
Taking a step back from it all…
My mental space has been somewhat off kilter for the past few days and I have become increasingly less and less present with the world around me.
At some point, we all realise we need a time out. This time for me, has come.
Over the next coming weeks, I will be taking a break from the Blogging and Instagram world to prioritise my career, my e-commerce business, my home and effectively deal with life’s little unexpected stressors.
Essentially I will be following this mantra;
Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for taking care of
If it wasn’t for the wonderful group of people I’ve met online, I probably wouldn’t come back. This is not goodbye but at this point, I realise I need to re-focus on other things.
I’m so grateful for the friendships I have formed on both the blogging and IG platforms.
I will be around, just not as present as usual.
Remember to take some time for yourself, your mental and physical health, remember healthy boundaries and stay humble and kind.
I’ll leave you with this quote;
Just because I forgot to water the plant doesn’t mean I don’t care, I just forgot to water the plant.
All of these looks were created with the following staple products and tools. All the brands will have external links to prices and where to purchase for your convenience below (just highlight the word and go):
Small note, all of the xoBeauty products I received in a giveaway package I won from Glam Raider recently (yay!) but the rest was purchased by myself.
Nars, All Day Luminous Weightless foundation, Light 2 Mont Blanc
I love a warm eye. Would you believe I had to hide the Tarte Toasted palette so I didn’t grab for it so often? I admit, I’m quite neglectful of some of my other palettes. This was a first I’d used it in a long while, much to my other eye shadow palettes delight.
I created the ‘halo effect’ with a bit of Tarte Shape Tape on the centre of my lid and applied. It took a bit to pack on but I like the effect.
I kind of wished I bronzed a bit more around my temples and forehead. Sometimes, makeup can look so different until you photograph it.
I won this lipstick (among so many other fabulous goodies) in a giveaway I mentioned earlier.
The universe brought to me such a fun berry shade, something so perfect for what I wanted these upcoming months.
Sadly, I don’t own a lip liner to match this, I used Kylie Cosmetics lip kit liner in Wicked but it was a little too purple but I kind of liked the effect. I would suggest using a balm underneath and then lining your lips as this is a bit patchy. Still beautiful though!
Can I quickly mention, The Gold Digger lashes by xoBeauty are one of my favs!! I love the lashes the taper from short in the inner corner to longer on the outer corner. Strip lashes can tend to look very heavy on my eyes if I’m not careful with my choice in lashes.
The first of my greige toned lipsticks. Some may say muddy, some gothic, I personally love how it makes my eyes look more blue. Again, more so in person than showing up in this picture (they look a little green?)
Did you know grey is made up of the primary colours yellow, red and blue? I suppose that’s why I find it brings out the blueness but I digress, this isn’t a basic colour theory blog post.
Guys this was pretty long but I hope you stayed with me until the end and enjoyed seeing some of my makeup creations 😀
I will be posting another important blog post later today (2 blogs in one day??) be sure to read it when you get the chance.
So it may be the end of a long week and you’re looking for a little me time?
Here’s my rendition of a relaxing evening routine that will have you ready for the land of relaxation and slumber.
Pour yourself a mug or glass of your favourite drink and head on over to the ‘spa’ *ahem* your bathroom
Remove all your jewellery and accessories and put your hair up into a bun so it’s out of the way. I love using a fuzzy hair turban too 🙂
Fill up your bath tub and add your favourite bath bomb, bath salts or bubble bath product and as you wait,
Complete your skincare routine to remove sunscreen/and or makeup
Apply a sheet mask or any mask of your choice to your face, you could even use this as an opportunity to use some nose strips (the pain of ripping it off after kind of puts me off adding this to a relaxing night time routine, but the option is there)
Take a long soak in the bath
Take advantage of the bath water and use an exfoliating mitt/glove or body scrub to get rid of all your dead skin cells, something I neglect to do when taking a quick shower!
Moisturise your body with your fav body lotion and don’t forget to apply serums, lotions and moisturisers to your face as well
Get into your PJ’s
Make yourself a warm drink such as decaf coffee, hot tea or a hot chocolate
Eat an indulgent snack
Moisturise your hands and apply your favourite lip balm/mask to hydrate your lips
I like to read a magazine or book, sometimes watch IG stories and I do catch up with some of my YouTube subscriptions. All of the latter make me somewhat tired although I know the screens aren’t the best *cringes*
Write down your to do list for the next day or week
Reflect on goals, past achievements buy writing them down in a journal or you could put a little mediation music on and visualise
Do you have a relaxing technique you’d like to share? Or maybe you could use a few of these for your next at home spa session. I hope it gave you some relatively easy ideas.
Remember to always take a little time out of your day for ‘me time’.
Here’s a current look at my skincare routine, forever changing or being tweaked, only for the best reasons of course hehe. For days I want to look put together and fresh, I decided to show you my simplistic makeup routine as a small bonus.

I can’t help but thinking of that recent meme that I can’t find or was it a tweet about influencers talking about their skincare routines. In no way do I think I am an influencer but it gave me a giggle. I hope you enjoyed this blog post.
Today’s ingredient we are exploring in, ‘Centre Stage’ is Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3. Taken by mouth, vitamin B3 it is said to alleviate acne vulgaris, help stop memory loss in Alzheimer’s disease, lessen the disconcerting symptoms of schizophrenia and even help ADHD.
Currently, there is not enough substantial evidence to determine its full effectiveness in the treatment of the above ailments. But there is another area it is more commonly used for which we will discuss today.
Niacinamide is more commonly known for its use in skincare products. Proven effective in the treatment of eczema, it is also beneficial in maintaining overall skin tone, reduction of pore size, and reduction of wrinkles and fine lines.
The reasons why I choose to incorporate niacinamide in my skincare routine are; reducing my redness (rosacea), soothing my blemishes and dermatitis (seb derm) and creating an overall even skin tone.
Here are a few select products containing Niacinamide (Vitamin B3):
So I’d love to know, do you use a product with niacinamide in your skincare or daily health routine?
I hope to purchase TO product above soon as I hear people rave about it! (such an affordable price too!) Let me know your niacinamide recommendations below.
Did you know that thirst can actually make you feel hungry? Try drinking one glass of water before you reach for that Snickers bar. If after 30 min you still aren’t satisfied, then you may eat something. So what to choose? You’ll want to find something that will satisfy your hunger but also be nutritious.
A healthy selection of delicious snacks include;
2 tablespoons of peanut or almond butter, smooth or crunchy or something in between, whatever you fancy really
Apple quarters topped with about 2 tablespoons of peanut or almond butter dusted with a sprinkling of cinnamon
Yoghurt and berry bowl (I love strawberries but you can mix any in really like blueberries or raspberries) You could even top this with a sprinkling of protein mix
Carrot or celery sticks, tricks my mind into thinking I’m eating chips
Hommus and brown crackers
Popcorn, homemade with kernels is best with a sprinkling of salt or cinnamon
Fruit. Yes too much fructose is not a good thing but I ate all the fruit I wanted for dessert most nights and still lost weight however, I advise you proceed with caution
Remember; munching on sweet and salty snacks occasionally is okay. Treat yourself! But also be honest with yourself. If you’re putting in more than you exert in physical activity then maybe it’s time for a change.
