I’m pretty envious of kids in Australia nowadays. October brings with it stores where shelves are stocked with grim grinning pumpkins,Β ugly old hags, creepy skulls my child self would have jumped on at the chance.
Celebrating Halloween just wasn’t done in the 90s and early 00s Australia. *womp womp*
And yes, I chose to upload my ‘Casual Friday’s’ post on a Wednesday as it is after all the spirit of Halloween!
Last year as I pushed the grocery trolley around my local supermarket I was pleasantly surprised with the huge pallet of pumpkins sitting in the corner of the vegetable section. Was I tempted to buy one? Yes. Have I got a clue how to carve a pumpkin for Halloween? Well no but I’m sure there’s a YouTube video somewhere.
It still sparked something within me. Later that week I headed over to Target and bought what would be some of my first Halloween Decor items of the season. Having your own house means you get to do whatever you want really. So I decided my entryway was going to be transformed into a Halloween Spooktacular Event!
Note: No children and their parents following behind them visited my home last year. But it hasn’t stopped me this year.
With the help of my wonderful cousin Anna in Florida, USA I was able to purchase some, you guessed it, Halloween Disney Decor. I mean I’m all for Disney everything at any time of the year but celebrating with the two mice just make it seem so much more special.

Both were purchased here.
Welcome Foolish Mortals, to the Haunted Mansion!
Okay not exactly the HM ride you’ll find at Disneyland and Walt Disney World however, on with the tour!

I purchased a bag of Halloween Candy from Costco. It has cute little pictures on each individual wrapper, all Halloween themed.
I was very underwhelmed by the Australian supermarkets poor marketing attempts this year. It didn’t work on me *cackles*. I just found that placing bags of original chocolates in big orange coloured boxes with ‘Halloween’ and ‘spooky’ written all over the box, that are not in anyΒ way, shape or form different from how you sell chocolates 365 days a year really disappointing *sighs*

I really hope you enjoyed this weeks Casual Friday’s Post.
Stay spooky and enjoy trick or treating!
So from my home to yours,
*evil laugh*
