Review – Marc Jacobs Beauty – Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss

Fancy yourself a shiny, glossy lip that feels as luxurious as it looks? Keep those lips puckered as I review this stunning product.

About two weeks ago, I brought to you my review on Fenty Beauty’s Fenty Glow Lipgloss. Since I’m on a roll, today’s review is on a high end lip product by Marc Jacobs Beauty.

For the most part, I try to use drug store and mid range beauty products and cosmetics. A lot of what I show you is my collection built up over the years.

Last year, as a gift to myself and with my tax money in tow, I purchased this beauty to help my thin and small lips.

Some product has settled in the bottle. It’s probably quarter full

Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer Lipgloss in ‘Sugar Sugar’

Sephora Says,

A high-shine lip gloss in covetable shades with lasting brilliance.

Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer lipgloss delivers maximum colour and brilliance with its unique Triple Shine Complex, a blend of high-performance ingredients that provide unstoppable wear and shine like ’30 coats of lacquer.’ The brilliant shine contributes to an optical plumping look. Enamored feels cushiony on the lips, never sticky. This mint-scented lip gloss collection features a profusion of creamy pinks, shimmering lavenders and iridescent brights that give lips a lush look with lasting colour and unbelievable shine.

And for AUD$42.00 for 5ml/ 0.16fl.oz worth of product, you’d better hope it does what they tell you.

Well, I really love it.

Wand Applicator

This is a unique wand tip. It’s quite long in length but honestly, I prefer something a little smaller. I have thin lips so maybe that’s the issue. Nonetheless, it get’s the product on there quickly in one swipe.

The rectangle shape feels comfortable in my hand

There’s a mild, minty scent. Nothing too crazy. It tastes a little minty too.

This is creamy and delicious on the lips. It feels like a thick coat of gloss and it melts into your lips. I feel like you don’t need a whole heap either.

The Stick Factor

There’s definitely not any on my scale.

Shade Range

It’s extensive, ranging from their Shimmer Shimmer finish and High Shine finish they have every colour to keep you covered. Wear it alone or over another lip product, you can’t go wrong.

Would I Re-Purchase?

Yes definitely. I’m very interested in their other shades.

So maybe this could be a well earned treat for yourself or a gift for a family member or friend this Christmas? I hope you enjoyed today’s post, are you liking the site update? πŸ™‚

The Great Debate – Matte or Glossy Lips?

Lip Smackers were my first ever lip product. I wish I could remember the flavour but knowing my child self or heck, myself now, it was probably a purple one I selected off the shelf. Grape maybe?

Ask someone who went to school with me, they’ll always remember I had a lip product in my pocket at all times. It was that and my mobile phone. Before that? My Lip Smacker was stored neatly in the front of my back pack.

I recently pulled out my Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb and as I applied it to my lips, it got my thinking how over time we’ve evolved in the cosmetics world of lip products.

Started from the bottom now we’re here

Lip Smackers. Thanks Bonne Bell for the memories!

Lip Smackers

Then came those tubes with the roller ball thingies at the top. They’d work for a while, then the ball would pop off slightly and leak a sticky mess of gloss everywhere. The scents were cool though.

Then the tubes with the slanted tips you’d squeeze product out of. Again, they all leaked in the end.

Then I remember using pot lip glosses from the brand Chi Chi. The shine on them was amazing! When I walk around Target, I still desperately look out for them but I’m pretty sure they’re discontinued and the wands and tubes are all the rage now.

Then circa the time Kylie Jenner miraculously grew larger lips, it sent everyone into a head spin. Matte colours had become the in thing. Why? I guess if you overdraw your lips it’s better to do so with a matte shade!

Alas, Jenner then created a cosmetic boom in the industry releasing her Matte Liquid Lipsticks Lip Kits by her own brand Kylie Cosmetics.

So my choice in the debate? I think I’ll always be a glossy girl at heart as my lips aren’t very large and gloss makes them appear larger.

I still have a soft spot for matte lipsticks just because they don’t make me do this at some point in my day *looks below*.
